Not impressed lately. Having been with them for around 3 years I'm now paying more than what they offer new customers on a 12 month fixed term. I'm not in a position to resign a fixed term as i maybe moving in with partner who has a business account.

When everything is running and there are no issues it's great! But the whole first month i was connected o didnt have access to the internet. They disconnected me the were going to charge me for reconnection! I've been with them since the 28th of June and was able to use the internet for about a week before it what out again they did all these tests and told me 24 hours latter it was fixed and well it wasn't and still isn't!

The problem I had was with Spark when I chose to switch from them to Slingshot. They cut me off pretty much straight away and were obnoxious in their attitude toward me as a longstanding customer. They made no attempt to find out why I was leaving. I would never return to them at all because of their appalling customer service.

Sign up process was a disaster as they did not get back to me at all for almost a month to say they were somehow unable to provide my switch as they couldnt find evidence of my current connection at that time. After phoning Slingshot to ask if the switch was happening I had to ring Vodafone ask for some number needed and get back to Slingshot to get any action. I demanded a free months service.

Terrible change over , 5 days later still no phone, wireless modem supplied is really bad too. They keep saying its fixed, and raising a new ticket. This has been so hard, I was expecting a easy switch, I wish i had stuck with Spark.

Changed address half way thru a Fibre contract. Cannot get Fibre installed at the new address so stuck with ADSL. Price suddenly shot up to $90 per month with no notice. Get stonewalled when I try to find out why they can't provide VDSL. Switched to 2degrees. Slingshot now want an early termination payout as they claim the contract restarted when the address changed. I'm claiming no contract as they can't provide the service I signed up for.

Slingshot keep overcharging me its been going on for months and they keep saying it be fixed next bill just wait but its not fixed and its pissing me off this should not take 4 months to sort out, the problem started when they wanted to put my plan up, i told them i would switch unless they match another provider, they agreed to match if i was on a 12 month contract, so i said go ahead with that deal, since then they have been charging me 89.95 when it should be 69.95 this is for unlimited adsl, its crazy how useless these guys are

Took 2 months for fibre installation to be completed which we were told 3 weeks. But had standard in the meantime while we waited which wasn't adequate for my household, too much lag. Had to ring to upgrade from 50mbps to 100. It was free so don't know why they didn't just set that for my account. It still lags with 2 PS4 and 2 mobile phones which sucks but not sure if anything to do with slingshot have called multiple times but they say it's normal??? Confused. Am on 12 month contract otherwise would cancel and I am only in the 2nd month.

Slingshot is one of the worst broadband companies I have been with. We have been through 4 modems. For the last 12 + months we have had really bad internet service. Every time we ring up they say that we have been given a "shit modem". We are still having trouble. Our contract was up but then they locked us into a fiber one so we are stuck with crappy services

If you're thinking about switching to Slingshot, do yourself a huge favour and DON'T!We switched three months ago and, thinking that customer service would be better if we used all services, we signed up to their Broadband, landline, mobile and electricity services.Switching from our previous supplier was a nightmare. A small problem turned into the months of bullshit from their help desk. We were told three times that one of our mobile accounts 'is set up to automatically change to the new rates at the next biking period'. Yeah Right! After three months, it FINALLY changed and we listened to multiple help desk staff bullshit is our be totally incompetent as they told us it was all set up.As for their internet 'service': it's worse than a joke! I haven't seen a day go by when we haven't been dropped of our internet connection multiple times. Their usual answer "try turning your modern of and on again". Yeah Right! It runs again for half an hour then cuts out again and again and again and again! We had better service from Vodafone and better internet on VDSL than Slingshots rubbish broadband fibre connection.I'm currently writing this using my mobile as my desktop internet is down AGAIN. Our alarm system runs on the internet and we have afrail old lady living with us so it's critical to have a stable service: Slingshot is NOT the answer, it's utter rubbish. DONT DO IT! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY: YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DO!

I can't wait till my 12 month contract over so I can bring my business to other better ISP. They insist that 5GHz wifi is just a myth, a marketing word, only 2.4GHz is real, and the provided NetComm NF18ACV is utterly useless and slow, and you can't replace it with your own modem router because your phone line is directly hookup to it instead of the ONT. When asking for setting up the supplied router, they give NetComm 0800 653 962, and as useless as their own product, you get automated answering machine instead of a realy support person, and they just send you on a wild goose chase. Lesson well learned, word of advice, to avoid headache, don't use Slingshot as your internet provider.

I regret joining Slingshot, now I am locked in a 2 year contract. They send your bill and ten days later it has to be paid, if it's not - you start getting automated text messages and emails threatening disconnection. It is extremely difficult to get someone on the phone unless it's sales or technical difficulties. And no-one cares if you are on the bones of your arse and struggling - despite the fact that from Feb-Nov I have paid them $6779 for their services. My winter bill is around $480 per month. God help you if it's after hours or the weekend because then you most certainly won't get hold of anyone. And yes, as someone said - if you do manage to get hold of collections they are rude and quite sarcastic. Certainly not sympathetic to the factthat you have been unemployed for 2 years but live in a little fridge that needs a heat pump because we loose the sun at 3pm in winter, and just want a few extra days or a week or two to pay the bill. Most companies give 30 days for an invoice to be paid. Not slingshot. They want their money and they want it now. I am horrified at their treatment and if I had the chance I would leave them immediately!!!

Absolutely terrible. Cut me off on a Sunday afternoon when I had already paid bill and it was difficult to get unblocked - I had to pretend I was paying the bill again! Their systems are unwieldy, inaccurate and outdated. Their automated phone lines are rude and unhelpful. All the more atrocious since I was a long term customer paying well over the odds. Why do these big outfits spend more time and energy trying to get new customers instead of looking after their long termers?

Absolutely shocking from the transfer to them to follow up customer service. I regrettably changed over to them and from the start have had nothing but problems. My previous provider was great and only changed to the special offer Slingshot had to offer. Absolutely no service in half of the house which doesn’t help when my kids are busy studying for exams. Have emailed them numerous times with numerous replies advising they have upgraded our modem etc, absolutely no different. Stay clear of these providers!

Thanks to its fast network speeds, Slingshot Broadband Plans offer very reliable service in New Zealand. In fact, Slingshot fibre reviews are mostly positive as its optic fibre technology makes it faster than most wireless broadband plans. You can also get add-on services such as a $5 antivirus service that keeps you protected from malware. Customers also get to choose how to pay for their accounts through many flexible payment methods at an affordable price.
Customers can choose whether to for two weeks or even for up to two years for their standard broadband internet service. Kiwis under unlimited plans can also choose to pay weekly or every two weeks. Monthly costs are at a reasonable price of $20. That’s a good deal.
When it comes to their broadband deals, Slingshot offers three types:
Slingshot’s ADSL broadband can reach an average of 24 Mbps for downloads. Under Ethernet, average speeds can reach around 18 Mbps. It is not absolutely shocking in terms of speeds but it is sufficient for households with moderate internet consumption.
VDSL offers slightly faster connection speeds, reaching averages of 70 Mbps for downloads. Under Ethernet, VDSL can reach speeds that range from 22 to 50 Mbps. This is probably the most common type used by Slingshot customers and it is a decent plan for most households’ data consumption.
Fibre broadband boasts the fastest speeds capable of reaching 900 Mbps. This makes it perfect for watching 4K videos, playing online games, and other high data-consuming applications. Slingshot fibre reviews are quite positive as a result, making it the best available plan from Slingshot offers.
Customers can find ADSL and VDSL plans under their standard broadband services at reasonable prices.
No. Slingshot and Orcon are not technically the same company even if they are both broadband internet providers. Orcon typically offers ultra-high-speed internet services while Slingshot is better known for its different types of broadband and power packages.
Both providers are technically counted as sub-companies of New Zealand telecom company Vocus Group.
Vocus Group is a telecom network company that provides different communication services on a wholesale and retail level. It covers different sectors from government to businesses and individuals, as well as over 4,000 kilometres of land and air space. Vocus Group exclusively owns Slingshot Broadband and is also one of the top four telecom companies in New Zealand.
Yes. You can get a wireless broadband service starting at $65 without having to buy any mobile plans. It is one of the best broadband plans for those looking for fast broadband at a reasonable price.
Slingshot also offers free standard installation for their wireless broadband service if you have an existing VDSL, ADSL, or Fibre connection point in your home.
Based on different Slingshot reviews, the best deals come from the Unlimited Gigantic Plan, which customers pay fortnightly. It is an unlimited package starting at $43.70, reaching speeds of 875 Mbps. You can also get monthly broadband plans with Unlimited Gigantic Monthly which offers similar features at $94.95.
Slingshot router reviews are generally okay, though some customers have found faster speeds with other compatible modems.
