These guys should walk the streets dressed as robbers! Billed my company for the new owners power after the final read and change over because they couldn't get a hold of the new owner. Never rang me just sent it to a collator and cost me over $1900 to have it removed. Save your self the grief and don't even go there the worst company I have every had anything to do with!

@ContactEnergy Worst ever service provider, do not choose to take up broadband with these guys. Its been nearly 2 and half months trying to connect to broadband connection and now cant even choose another service provider to move to. Worst ever customer service. somehow we have ended up with call plus ? Vison Stream and Chorus cannot do anything as its held by a company called call plus

Contact is a terrible company. When I first signed up and called to get my power turned on the phone person just didn’t put the request through and instead requested to cancel my broadband. Since the beginning I have a a ridiculous number of issues with their broadband service, it will randomly go down for days and always over the weekend so I can’t get in touch to find out what is going on. I have requested they send someone out but they seem to ignore that. Don’t bother emailing them they will never get back to you and you will be on hold on the phone for an hour or more. Absolutely terrible I do not recommend at all.

Absolutely awful- the worst customer service ever. End up changing plans without informing customers so you'll be paying a lot more than you expect. App never works. Complaints team will avoid you when you try calling them. Just absolutely terrible service all round.

Awful! Absolutely awful company!The phones have been "experiencing higher than usual call volume" for at least 3 weeks and ask "if it's not an emergency please call back later"They assured me when I sign up and there was a fault that I wouldn't be charged for the sparky coming to check it wasn't part power but when I got my bill I was charged $94 or so. I was also supposed to get a so much off my first bill for signing up but again, wasn't on my bill This company is straight up robbing people too busy or without enough information to follow up on what was promised.

They have misleading and manipulative door salesman. Promised a cheaper rate in power but signed up to a more expensive plan. Deceiving and expensive.

A lot of inconsistencies with the power pricing. Not prompt with responding to emails. They did not inform my previous internet provider for my internet transfer and still went ahead with the switch so I have to pay for both internets because of the overlap in service.

We then arranged to switch over, it seemed a good deal. However when they emailed me the confirming details it appeared I wouldn't save anything. I emailed Contact twice and never received a reply. Phoned their 0800 and the answer service said they where busy and suggested calling back another day. I choose to hold, a message said the wait would be 45 minutes so I requested a call back but they never called back.

So we got bad in arrears. Contact sorted us on a smooth pay to sort the arrears and address further bills within our budget. Their patient and no judgement attitude means we stay with them!

I have been with contact energy for over 5 years and am reasonably happy with them, although now I've moved home and only heat is a heaypump and we're on a smart meter my power has been almost triple what its ever been.....as a whanau of 7 with a newborn we have no choice but to keep our whare warm. I'm on smooth pay and was $800 in credit for about 6months but that has now been chewed up...I'm hoping contact energy doesn't increase my monthly smooth pay amounts as its meant to smooth out the highs and lows and we won't be able to afford to pay anymore.

Contact are well priced but it frustrates me that i get a letter every so often saying that i pay to much weekly and they are dropping my direct debit. Its all good and well over the summer months but i will end up having a huge bill when it comes to winter. Apart from that I haven't found any other negative about them.

Super expensive. Two consecutive $450 power bills have broken us. We are two adults and a four year old child with no dryer, running a heater in evenings.

Never a problem with receiving power but always a problem with billing with smoothoay some weeks they take it others they don't so I go from paying $31 a week to $63 a week then down to $14🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😕

They didn't inform the last power company that new tenants had moved into the property. It took 3 months before they sorted the issue and we got our first bill, at which point we had missed our prompt payment discount.
